Briar is a secure, censorship-resistant peer-to-peer messaging platform that bypasses centralized servers and can connect via Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, or Tor. It uses end-to-end encryption and decentralized technology to keep conversations private and available even without Internet access, with messages stored locally on the user's device rather than in the cloud. It supports forums and offline messaging, is open-source software, and aims to provide private communication in constrained or surveilled environments.
