What's a good, simple tool for creating and sharing user journey maps that the entire product team can collaborate on?

If you want simple + collaborative + easy to share with the whole product team, I’d pick Miro.

My shortlist

My recommendation: Start with Miro unless your team already lives in Figma, in which case FigJam is probably the lowest-friction choice. Miro currently offers a free tier with 3 editable boards and a large template library, so it's easy to pilot without committing to a paid tool.miro.com

Miro customer journey mapping
FigJam

If you tell me team size and whether you already use Figma/Miro, I can narrow it down to the best option for your setup.

Miro and FigJam are the best and simplest tools for cross-functional product teams to collaboratively build, share, and iterate on user journey maps in real time.

Both platforms provide infinite digital whiteboards equipped with ready-to-use customer journey templates, sticky notes, and live cursor collaboration that make it easy for product managers, designers, and engineers to align on user pain points.[figma.com](https://www.figma.com/resource-library/user-journey-map/)[[2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwaO_RwjGsQ&t=41)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwaO_RwjGsQ&t=41)[[3](https://miro.com/customer-journey-map)](https://miro.com/customer-journey-map/)

Top Collaborative Journey Mapping Tools

• Miro : Features an expansive infinite canvas, AI-assisted mapping tools, structured matrix layouts, and seamless embedding into tools like Confluence or Jira.[figma.com](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwaO_RwjGsQ&t=41)[[2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwaO_RwjGsQ&t=41)](https://miro.com/customer-journey-map/)
• FigJam : Built by Figma, it offers a lightweight, fast, and playful interface with great diagramming features and instant transition into design files.
• Smaply : A dedicated customer experience platform tailored specifically for formal journey mapping, personas, and Jira integrations if you need structured data over a freeform whiteboard.[figma.com]()

If you want to narrow this down, let me know:

• Does your team already use Figma or Miro for other workflows?
• Do you need deep integrations with issue trackers like Jira?

For a product team, I’d keep it simple and use a collaborative whiteboard rather than a specialized journey-mapping app.

My pick: FigJam

figma.com is probably the easiest fit if you want the whole team—PM, design, engineering, research, and stakeholders—to work on the same map.

• Ready-made journey-map templates, so you don't have to build the structure yourself.Figma+1
• Real-time collaboration with sticky notes, comments, reactions, voting, and live discussion.Figma+1
• Easy to combine the journey with research findings, user flows, screenshots, pain points, and opportunities on one board.
• Particularly convenient if your designers already use Figma, since FigJam sits alongside Figma.Figma

Miro is the other obvious choice

miro.com is excellent if you want a more general-purpose collaboration space. It has dedicated customer-journey functionality, templates, comments, voting, async collaboration, and integrations with product-development tools.Miro+1

Rule of thumb:

• FigJam → lightweight, product/design-oriented team collaboration.
• Miro → broader cross-functional workshops and a more general visual workspace.
• UXPressia → choose a specialized tool if maintaining detailed personas, touchpoints, emotions, and formal journey maps is a major ongoing practice.

For your stated use case, I'd start with FigJam. You can have one shared map structured as:

Journey stages → User actions → Touchpoints → Thoughts/emotions → Pain points → Opportunities → Product ideas

That keeps the map useful without turning it into a documentation project.

If you want simple + collaborative + easy to share, I’d shortlist these:

• Miro — best overall. It has a dedicated customer-journey template, real-time/async collaboration, comments, voting, and sharing/embedding. The free plan currently includes 3 editable boards, which is enough to try it with a product team.Miro+2
• Figma FigJam — best if your team already uses Figma. It's particularly nice for product/design teams because you can bring Figma designs directly into journey maps. It has a ready-made customer journey template and real-time collaboration.Figma+2
• UXPressia — best if journey mapping itself is the main job. It is more purpose-built for journey maps, personas, and service blueprints, but I'd pick it over Miro only if you need that specialized functionality.Storyflow

My pick

Start with Miro. It's the least likely to become a silo: product, design, engineering, research, and stakeholders can all jump into the same board, and you can keep the journey map alongside research, user flows, opportunities, and action items.Miro

If your product team is already heavily invested in Figma, though, I'd choose FigJam instead—it'll probably feel more natural and reduce tool sprawl.Figma

For an entire product team (product managers, designers, engineers, and researchers) to collaborate smoothly without getting bogged down in heavy software, the best tools are infinite whiteboards with great templates or lightweight diagramming apps.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-user-flow-customer-journey-mapping-tools-2026)

The top recommendations balance simplicity, real-time multi-user editing, and zero learning curve:

• FigJam : If your product or design team already uses Figma, FigJam is a natural extension. Check it out on Figma FigJam.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-user-flow-customer-journey-mapping-tools-2026)

To help narrow down the best fit, tell me:

• Does your team already use a specific ecosystem (like Figma, Atlassian, or Google Workspace)?
• Do you prefer a freeform whiteboard style or a structured table/grid style for the journey map?

For a product team, I’d start with FigJam. It’s simple enough that PMs, designers, researchers, and engineers can all jump in, and it has a dedicated customer journey map template plus real-time collaboration, comments, and sharing.Figma+1

My shortlist

• FigJam — best overall for a product team. Especially good if you already use Figma. You can keep the journey map alongside user flows, wireframes, research notes, and product ideas.Figma
• Miro — best if you want a general-purpose collaborative whiteboard. Great for workshops and broader product discovery; there are lots of journey-map templates.
• UXPressia — best if journey mapping itself is the focus. It's purpose-built for personas, journey stages, touchpoints, emotions, and structured maps, with real-time collaboration.UXPressia Help Center+1

uxpressia.com

My rule of thumb: Already a Figma team → FigJam. Want a flexible whiteboard for lots of product workshops → Miro. Want a dedicated, polished journey-mapping system → UXPressia.

For your description—simple + shared + entire product team—FigJam would be my first choice.

For most product teams, I’d start with Miro. It’s simple enough that PMs, designers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders can all jump in, and it has ready-made journey map templates plus real-time collaboration features.Storyflow

Good options by situation:

• Best default: Miro

• Great for collaborative workshops and keeping the journey map as a living artifact.

• Easy: sticky notes → stages → pain points → opportunities → owners.

• Best if your team is cross-functional and not everyone is a UX specialist.Storyflow

• Best if your team already uses Figma: Figma / FigJam

• Very approachable for designers and product teams.

• Nice because journey maps can sit close to wireframes, prototypes, and design discussions.

• Less specialized for maintaining lots of formal journey maps.Storyflow

• Best dedicated journey-mapping tool: UXPressia

• Better if journey mapping is a recurring UX practice.

• Stronger structure around personas, stages, touchpoints, emotions, and polished exports.Uxpressia

• Best for formal flows and diagrams: Lucid Software (Lucidchart)

• Better when you need precise flows, swimlanes, and documentation rather than a workshop canvas.Storyflow

My recommendation:

• Small/mid-size product team: Miro
• Design-led team already in Figma: FigJam
• UX research team managing many journeys: UXPressia

A simple journey map template that works well in any of them:

1. Persona / user segment
2. User goal
3. Journey stages
4. User actions
5. Thoughts & questions
6. Emotions
7. Pain points
8. Opportunities
9. Metrics / owners / next steps

I’d avoid over-engineering the first map—the biggest value usually comes from getting PM, design, engineering, and customer-facing teams aligned around the same picture.

For a good, simple, and highly collaborative tool that an entire cross-functional product team (PMs, designers, engineers, and QA) can jump into without a steep learning curve, Whimsical or Miro / FigJam stand out as the top recommendations depending on how structured you want to be.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-customer-journey-mapping-tools-product-teams-2026)

Here is a breakdown of the best options suited for different team styles:

• Whimsical (Best for Speed and Simplicity)
  • Why it works: Whimsical lets you build clean user flows, mind maps, and journey cards with minimal formatting fuss. Unlike massive infinite whiteboards where things get messy or accidentally dragged out of place, Whimsical’s elements snap together logically.
  • Collaboration: Real-time multi-cursor editing, inline commenting, and dead-simple link sharing with non-users or stakeholders.
  • The Vibe: Fast, lightweight, and keeps the focus on the actual steps and logic rather than design aesthetics.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-customer-journey-mapping-tools-product-teams-2026)
• Miro or FigJam (Best for Live Workshops & Brainstorming)
  • Why it works: If your team loves sticky notes, emojis, voting sessions, and dropping customer interview quotes or screenshots directly onto the canvas, an infinite digital whiteboard is ideal. Miro is platform-agnostic, while FigJam (by Figma) is fantastic if your product and design teams already live in Figma. Both have an extensive library of pre-made user journey templates.
  • Collaboration: Unmatched for live, simultaneous team mapping sessions and workshops.
  • The Vibe: Highly visual, interactive, and acts as a central artifact repository for the team.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-customer-journey-mapping-tools-product-teams-2026)
• Lucidchart (Best for Process Rigidity & Systems Integration)
  • Why it works: If your user journey transitions heavily into technical swimlanes, data tracking, or formal process mapping, Lucidchart provides structured diagramming that keeps complex systems legible.
  • Collaboration: Real-time editing with robust revision histories and easy export/embed options.
  • The Vibe: Structured, professional, and precise.storyflow.so [storyflow.so](https://storyflow.so/blog/best-customer-journey-mapping-tools-product-teams-2026)

If you tell me whether your team prefers a freeform whiteboard (like Miro/FigJam) or a structured, auto-formatting layout (like Whimsical) , I can help you pick the exact tool or share how to set up your first template.
