I am looking for an AI platform that allows me to chat with documents and generate professional slide decks, what do you suggest?

If your two requirements are (1) chat with source documents and (2) turn those documents into polished professional slide decks, I’d look at these:

1. Gamma — probably the closest match

gamma.app

Gamma can take a PDF, Word document, Google Doc, presentation, or other source material, structure it into a presentation, and then let you continue refining the deck through AI. It can also export to PowerPoint, PDF, and Google Slides.Gamma+1

What makes it particularly interesting for your use case is the workflow:

Upload documents → ask questions / extract insights → tell it what story you want → generate deck → iterate with AI.

It also supports importing an existing deck and either preserving its structure or having AI redesign it.Gamma Help Center

2. Microsoft Copilot + PowerPoint — if you need "real PowerPoint"

microsoft.com

This is particularly compelling if you're already in Microsoft 365. Copilot can create presentations from documents, including Word files and, for work licenses, PDFs; you can also ask questions about the resulting presentation.Microsoft Support+1

A major advantage is brand consistency: Copilot can use your organization's PowerPoint templates, layouts, fonts, colors and other brand elements when generating slides.Microsoft Support

My recommendation

If you want a standalone AI-first platform, I'd start with Gamma.

If you're creating decks for a corporate environment where the final deliverable must be a conventional .pptx using company templates, I'd seriously consider Copilot in PowerPoint.

If you tell me what kinds of documents you work with (PDFs, research papers, Word docs, meeting notes, etc.) and what kinds of decks you make (sales, consulting, executive, academic, investor, training), I can narrow this down to 2–3 platforms and compare their document-chat quality, slide quality, PowerPoint export, branding, privacy, and pricing.
