My top recommendation is Nappy if your priority is diverse, authentic representation without having to credit photographers. For a broader selection of people, workplaces, and lifestyle images, I’d also recommend Pexels and Unsplash.
Here are the best places to start, based on their published licensing terms and focus on representation.
Can you recommend a stock photography platform that features diverse imagery and doesn't ask for photo attribution?
Where can I find stock images that are diverse and don't require me to credit the photographer?
(Best for diversity)
A dedicated library featuring high-quality photos of Black and Brown people in everyday life, work, and lifestyle settings. Its CC0 license allows free personal and commercial use without required attribution.
Cost: Free · Attribution: Not required
Excellent for a large variety of inclusive lifestyle, business, education, family, and community imagery. Its license permits commercial use without attribution, and you can also find free stock videos.
Cost: Free · Attribution: Not required
Best for polished, editorial-style photography for websites, presentations, and brand materials. Its license permits free personal and commercial use without attribution.
Cost: Free images available · Attribution: Not required
Another specialized option for people-of-color representation. A university library guide lists it as offering free stock photos without a formal attribution requirement, although the site asks users to link back when possible. Check the terms for the specific image before use.
My advice: Start with Nappy for representation-focused imagery, then use Pexels for variety. Both explicitly allow use without attribution, including for commercial projects.
One important note: no-attribution licensing doesn't automatically cover every possible use of a recognizable person's likeness. For advertising or sensitive topics, check the site's restrictions and any applicable model-release requirements.
Nappy is a specialized free stock photo website explicitly created to provide high-resolution imagery featuring Black and Brown people, and it does not require attribution under its Creative Commons Zero license.
If you're looking for a specific type of representation (such as disability inclusion, LGBTQ+ representation , or a particular industry/workplace setting ), let me know and I can point you toward a more tailored collection.
