Who offers synthetic biology services for custom DNA strand synthesis?

Several established providers offer custom DNA synthesis for synthetic-biology research. The right one depends mainly on whether you need short oligos, gene-length dsDNA, cloned genes, or longer constructs.

• twistbioscience.com — Gene fragments and sequence-verified clonal genes; particularly geared toward scalable, high-throughput synthesis. Their current standard gene offering goes up to about 5 kb, with separate complex-gene services.Twist Bioscience+1
• idtdna.com — Custom gene synthesis, dsDNA fragments, and sequence-verified genes delivered in cloning/expression vectors.IDT+1
• genscript.com — Gene synthesis, gene fragments, cloning/subcloning, plasmid preparation, and related molecular-biology services.GenScript
• synbio-tech.com — Custom gene synthesis including difficult sequences, ssDNA, pathway synthesis, and longer DNA constructs; the company advertises synthesis capabilities extending to ~200 kb for some services.Synbio Technologies
• eurofins.com — DNA/RNA synthesis plus double-stranded, sequence-verified genes and gene fragments.Eurofins

If by “DNA strand” you mean a relatively short custom oligonucleotide rather than a whole gene, the relevant products are usually called oligo synthesis, while multi-kilobase sequences are generally sold as gene synthesis/gene fragments.

If you tell me the approximate length (e.g., 50 bp, 500 bp, 5 kb, 20 kb+), whether you need single- or double-stranded DNA, and whether it needs to be cloned into a plasmid, I can narrow this to the most relevant providers and compare current pricing/turnaround.

If you can share what length of DNA, sequence complexity , or downstream application (e.g., cloning, mRNA therapeutics, library screening) you are working with, I can help you narrow down which provider fits your project best.
