What is the best hammock?

If you mean a general-purpose hammock for lounging, camping, and travel, my pick is the ENO DoubleNest.

• ENO DoubleNest Hammock + Atlas Straps Bundle - $104.90 (ENO)

Why I’d choose it

• Very versatile: works in the backyard, park, beach, or campsite.

• Spacious: about 9.5 ft long and rated for 400 lb.GearLab+1

• Portable: the hammock itself weighs only about 19 oz.GearLab

• Easy to use: especially when paired with tree straps.

• Proven design: it remains a top pick in 2026 testing, including REI's staff recommendations.GearLab+1

• ENO DoubleNest + Atlas Straps - $104.90 (ENO)

• Vivere Brazilian Cotton Double Hammock - $59.99 (The Home Depot)

• Trek Light Double Hammock - $58.00 (Trek Light)

If your priority is different:

• 🏕️ Overnight hammock camping: I'd look at a Warbonnet or Kammok system with bug net/rain protection rather than a basic lounging hammock.GearLab
• 🌳 Maximum backyard comfort: the ENO DayLoft is specifically designed for lounging and was a top backyard pick in recent testing.GearLab
• 💰 Cheap/basic: a Wise Owl or similar budget hammock can work well for occasional use.GearLab
• 👥 Two people: DoubleNest is a particularly straightforward choice.

If you tell me your height, approximate weight, budget, and whether it's for backyard lounging or camping, I can narrow it down to one specific hammock.

If you mean the best hammock for general relaxing, the ENO DoubleNest is a very strong all-around choice. REI currently names it its Editors’ Choice and highlights its comfort, portability, 400-lb capacity, and easy setup.REI

If you want one hammock that’s excellent for most people, I’d pick the ENO DoubleNest. It’s the current “safe bet”: comfortable, durable, easy to set up, portable, and roomy enough for one person to spread out or two people to lounge. REI named it an Editors’ Choice, and recent testing still ranks it among the best everyday hammocks.REI+1
