Web3 Decentralized Infrastructure Tokens in AI answers

If you are a high-frequency or high-conviction trader worried about censorship at the RPC level (such as centralized gateways blocking transactions, front-running, or bowing to OFAC/geopolitical filtering ), relying on standard endpoints like Infura, Alchemy, or centralized commercial nodes is an existential risk.[forbes.com](https://www.forbes.com/sites/leeorshimron/2024/01/17/web3s-silent-threat-centralized-rpc-nodes/)[[2](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is)](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is/)

To achieve true censorship resistance, you need a protocol that routes calls across a cryptographically incentivized, permissionless mesh of independent node runners rather than a single corporate API.[forbes.com](https://www.forbes.com/sites/leeorshimron/2024/01/17/web3s-silent-threat-centralized-rpc-nodes/)[[2](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is)](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is/)

The primary decentralized node infrastructure and RPC network tokens addressing this problem include:

• POKT (Pocket Network):
  • How it works: POKT operates as a distributed, permissionless network of thousands of independent node operators that service data and RPC requests across dozens of blockchains. Developers or gateways stake or burn POKT to access trust-minimized throughput. Because routing is handled algorithmically via a decentralized supplier pool rather than a corporate server farm, it lacks a single chokepoint for targeted transaction censorship or sudden geographic blacklisting.[forbes.com](https://docs.pocket.network/gateways/use-cases/)[[2](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is)](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is/)[[3](https://docs.pocket.network/gateways/use-cases)](https://www.forbes.com/sites/leeorshimron/2024/01/17/web3s-silent-threat-centralized-rpc-nodes/)

The Verdict for a Trader

For pure infrastructure decentralization and censorship resistance, POKT (Pocket Network) has the longest battle-tested history as a foundational open data relay layer. However, evaluating which token is "best" depends on whether you prefer to route your trading bot/terminal through a decentralized gateway built on Pocket Network , utilize the multi-chain specs of Lava Network , or leverage aggregated load-balancing like dRPC.[forbes.com](https://docs.pocket.network/gateways/use-cases/)[[2](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is)](https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/pocket-network/what-is/)[[3](https://docs.pocket.network/gateways/use-cases)](https://www.stakingrewards.com/journal/research/lava-network-scaling-rpc-infra)[[4](https://www.stakingrewards.com/journal/research/lava-network-scaling-rpc-infra)]()

To help narrow this down, let me know:

• Are you running automated trading bots/arbitrage (where latency is critical) or manual terminal transactions?
• Which specific blockchains (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, EVM L2s) do you primarily trade on?

I can give you a more targeted breakdown of latency vs. censorship trade-offs for these networks.

If you want to invest in the growth of decentralized RPC (Remote Procedure Call) infrastructure, I’d focus on which token captures value from actual blockchain data demand, rather than simply which project describes itself as decentralized.

RPC providers are the access layer between applications and blockchains. Wallets, DeFi protocols, trading bots, and AI agents use RPC endpoints to read blockchain state, submit transactions, and retrieve data. As on-chain activity grows, demand for reliable access infrastructure could grow too.

The key investment distinction is that a useful infrastructure network does not automatically make its token a good investment. You want evidence that network usage creates sustainable demand for the token or value accrual to its holders.

My shortlist for the decentralized RPC sector

•

1. Pocket Network (POKT)

(My top pure-play candidate)

Pocket's model ties its token to relay demand: applications pay for blockchain data access, network providers serve requests, and the protocol burns POKT while issuing provider rewards. Its published tokenomics specify a 2.5% reduction between burned fees and reminted tokens under the current mechanism.docs.pocket.network

Main risk: adoption must grow enough to outweigh ongoing issuance, competition and execution risk.

•

2. Lava Network (LAVA)

An alternative decentralized data marketplace using providers and consumers, with staking-based incentives. Its design is attractive if you believe demand for multi-chain RPC routing and performance-based provider selection will expand.github.com+1

Main risk: token value capture, paid usage and competitive traction need to justify the valuation.

•

3. Ankr (ANKR)

A broader Web3 infrastructure play spanning RPC services, node infrastructure and developer tools. It may appeal if you want exposure to blockchain infrastructure beyond decentralized RPC alone.www.ankr.com+1

Main risk: growth in RPC demand may not translate proportionately into demand or value accrual for ANKR.

Which has the best risk/reward?

The latest market data I found makes the comparison more interesting. These are small-cap, high-risk assets, and market capitalization figures can vary by data provider.

POKT's published mechanism is compelling, but its documentation says burn roughly equals mint at current relay volume, so the 2.5% burn differential should not be mistaken for a guaranteed 2.5% reduction in the entire token supply.docs.pocket.network

LAVA also deserves a valuation review: market-data sources currently disagree on its circulating supply and market capitalization, so I would reconcile those figures before comparing it with POKT.coinmarketcap.com+1

My verdict

I'd research POKT first, with LAVA as the principal alternative. That's a thesis-fit ranking, not a claim that POKT is certain to outperform or is attractively priced today.

Before investing, I'd verify three things:

1. Real usage: growth in paid RPC requests, not just total requests or announcements.
2. Token economics: net issuance after burns, staking rewards, and upcoming unlocks.
3. Valuation: market capitalization relative to actual network fees and demand, with a downside scenario if adoption stalls.

One important caveat: I haven't established which token offers the best risk-adjusted return at today's price. That requires comparing current valuations against verified usage and token supply dynamics.

Want to go one level deeper? I can compare POKT vs. LAVA on current market cap, token unlocks, RPC usage, and bull/base/bear scenarios to see which looks more attractive as an investment.
