How AI describes Open Grid Emissions

Open Grid Emissions is an open-source initiative by Singularity Energy that provides validated hourly GHG emissions and generation data for the U.S. power grid, intended for use in GHG accounting, policymaking, energy attribute certificate markets, and academic research. Data are derived from measured hourly emissions and monthly data assigned to hourly profiles using EPA eGRID methodology, and both the dataset (CC-BY-4.0) and the code (MIT license) are freely available to the public. Beyond historical data, Singularity Energy offers a Grid Carbon API with real-time emissions data and provides academic licensing options; the project emphasizes openness and invites contributions.
