The Nassau Hiking and Outdoor Club (NHOC) is a non-profit Long Island–based organization (founded in 1966) with more than 200 members who explore the outdoors across Nassau, Suffolk, New York City, Westchester and surrounding states. In addition to weekly hikes, NHOC offers cycling, picnics, social events such as the Holiday Dinner Dance, Summer Picnic and Thanksgiving on the Trail, plus movie nights and overnight trips. Hikes are rated by difficulty ('A' hard, 'B' moderate and 'C' easy) and the club emphasizes environmental engagement and a broad program of outings, including museum and theatre experiences.
