Kuku is a native macOS AI-powered Markdown editor that runs locally via a Tauri app, featuring an AI agent with tool calls, local Whisper-based speech-to-text, and offline-first operation. It uses plain Markdown stored on disk (Obsidian-compatible vaults), supports bidirectional links and a graph view, and provides fast local search with SQLite FTS5 and Korean tokenization. The project emphasizes no cloud lock-in and offline AI (AI does not learn from your documents), and plans an open-source 1.0+ release with server code (MeetingNote) and three deployment options, plus a lightweight bundle for high performance.
We haven’t found Kuku in the AI answers we’ve checked.
