How AI describes Salamandra

Salamandra-7b-instruct is a language model developed by the Language Technology Unit at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) for instruction-based natural language tasks, prioritizing Spanish and European languages like Catalan, Spanish, Basque, and Galician. It was trained on publicly available open-source datasets and adheres to FAIR AI principles, emphasizing openness and transparency. The project is funded by public bodies (Generalitat de Catalunya and Spain’s Ministry of Economy / Secretariat of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence) under ALIA and AINA, and is hosted on Hugging Face as part of the BSC-LT collection.
