GitLab Release CLI is a command-line tool (written in Go) that creates Release objects in GitLab Rails by consuming instructions from the .gitlab-ci.yml release node or by direct command-line usage. It can be invoked by GitLab Runner, third-party CI, or directly from the CLI, and it authenticates against the GitLab Rails API using the CI Job-Token. The project is in maintenance mode with no new features; feature development is moved to the glab CLI, and Release CLI may be deprecated as GitLab's tooling matures.
