Earthquake Warning California is the first publicly available statewide earthquake early warning system in the United States, managed by the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). It uses ground motion sensors to detect earthquakes before humans can feel them and sends alerts via the MyShake App, Android Earthquake Alerts, and Wireless Emergency Alerts to prompt residents to "Drop, Cover and Hold On."
