The Democracy Toolkit is a resource hub for reporters, newsroom leaders, educators, and engagement specialists designed to help them cover democracy and counter democratic backsliding in the United States. It provides vetted, scenario-based resources on topics like election coverage, misinformation, civic participation, inclusive journalism, safety, and legal support, plus access to subsidized reporting tools through partners such as the Knight Elections Hub. The project, created by the Center for Journalism & Democracy in partnership with Hearken, invites users to suggest resources and stay connected via updates.
