PIMSyS is a European Space Agency Business Applications project that develops, integrates, validates and pre-operates a Decision Support Service to monitor the integrity of oil and gas transmission pipelines by combining space-based services (SatEO, SatNav, SatCom) with terrestrial systems. It detects Third Party Interferences and Ground Elevation Movements via SAR-based change detection and Permanent Scatterer Interferometry, and monitors pipeline health using in-situ sensors; field operators use GNSS and mobile devices to geo-tag evidence and transmit data in real time to a central processing center. The service is piloted with Gasunie (Netherlands) and Sasol (South Africa) with plans to expand worldwide, offering cloud-based notifications, a GIS analysis module, and broad coverage (Europe every 3-4 days).
