What AI says about Altfibr

Algas Organics offers Altfibr, a non-wood kraft pulp replacement and cellulose fiber derived from agricultural byproducts (banana stems, pineapple leaves, seaweed) that can drop into existing processing equipment and replace forest-based fibers without using forests. In blends with Southern Bleached Kraft Pulp, Altfibr can boost tensile and burst strength by up to 100%, delivering performance gains without retooling and enabling year‑round, scalable supply from crops harvested weekly. The product line targets Kraft Pulp Replacement, Lightweight Textile Fiber for Fashion, and Bio‑Based Barriers for Packaging, and the company emphasizes high performance and sustainability, including recognition as a MassChallenge 2025 Award winner.
