What AI says about AGENTS.md

AGENTS.md is an open format that serves as a dedicated, agent-focused README to provide the context, build steps, tests, and project conventions that AI coding agents need to work on a repository; it’s used by over 60,000 open-source projects. It complements human READMEs by keeping detailed, agent-relevant guidance (setup commands, code style, testing, security considerations) separate from human-oriented docs, and supports nested AGENTS.md files for subprojects. It aims to be a broadly compatible standard across many AI agents and tools, and is stewarded by the Agentic AI Foundation.
