So I'd pick Snipe-IT if cost and straightforward asset tracking matter more than automation.

“We receive 20 laptops → scan/import them → assign them to employees → employee leaves → retrieve laptop → mark it returned → reimage → reassign → eventually retire it.”
If a product makes that process effortless, you've found your ITAM.
Bottom line: Lansweeper for the best automated inventory experience, Freshservice if you want ITAM + ITSM in one system, and Snipe-IT if you want a very capable, inexpensive hardware registry. I wouldn't jump to ServiceNow for a 200-person company unless there are much bigger governance/CMDB requirements.
