Triathlon bike shipping

When preparing for a triathlon , you have a couple of primary models for getting your bike to the race site: third-party courier shipping services (the most popular and reliable route) or traditional airline/luggage transit.[triathlete.com](https://www.triathlete.com/gear/bike/3-ways-to-transport-your-triathlon-bike/)[[2](https://www.reddit.com/r/triathlon/comments/xwsxhk)](https://www.reddit.com/r/triathlon/comments/xwsxhk/bike_shipping_services/)

Top options for bike shipping services include:

• Bikeflights : One of the most popular and trusted services in the multisport community, and an official partner of USA Triathlon. They partner with major carriers like UPS and FedEx to offer discounted rates, specialized bike boxes, tracking, and delivery protection options. You pack the bike in a box or travel case, and they ship it to a local bike shop, your hotel, or a residence near the race.[triathlete.com](https://www.bikeflights.com/)[[2](https://www.reddit.com/r/triathlon/comments/xwsxhk)](https://www.triathlete.com/gear/bike/3-ways-to-transport-your-triathlon-bike/)[[3](https://www.bikeflights.com/)](https://blog.bikeflights.com/post/746757086120181760/bikeflights-becomes-official-shipping-service-of)
• ShipBikes : Another major competitor that utilizes major freight networks to ship bikes affordably. They offer custom packaging options like their AirCaddy hard/semi-rigid containers and competitive discounted shipping rates via major couriers.[triathlete.com](https://www.shipbikes.com/)[[2](https://www.reddit.com/r/triathlon/comments/xwsxhk)](https://www.triathlete.com/gear/bike/3-ways-to-transport-your-triathlon-bike/)

(Note: Historically, track-side white-glove transport like TriBike Transport was popular for major races, but they underwent severe financial and logistical crises, making standard boxed courier shipping via services like Bikeflights or checking a bike case on your flight the standard and safest paths.) If you'd like, let me know:

• Is the race domestic or international?
• Would you prefer to ship using a cardboard bike box or a hard-sided travel case?

I can help give you a step-by-step checklist for packing and shipping your triathlon bike safely.

When it comes to getting your bike to a triathlon, you generally have two different approaches: fully assembled race-day transport (where a specialized trucking service brings your bike fully built to the race venue) or box shipping services (where you pack your bike in a case and ship it via courier to a local bike shop or your hotel).

The primary companies handling these services include:

• Ready2Race Bike Transport — Specializes in white-glove, fully assembled bike transport for major US events (like IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races). They pick up or receive your fully built tri-bike (zero disassembly required) via partner local bike shops and transport it directly to the race expo/village with real-time tracking.[ready2racetransport.com](https://www.ready2racetransport.com/)
• The Bike Sherpa (The Race Day Company) — Operates out of Tucson, AZ, providing fully assembled bike and gear transport to select races and major events across the U.S. so you don't have to break down your tri-bike or fly with it.[ready2racetransport.com](https://www.racedaywheels.com/biketransport)
• Bikeflights — One of the most popular box-shipping courier services and the official bike shipping partner of USA Triathlon. They work with major carriers (like UPS and FedEx) to ship your packed bike, wheels, or gear bag directly to a local bike shop partner near the race venue, your hotel, or a residence.[ready2racetransport.com](https://www.bikeflights.com/)[[2](https://www.racedaywheels.com/biketransport)](https://www.triathlete.com/gear/bike/3-ways-to-transport-your-triathlon-bike/)
• ShipBikes — Another widely used box-shipping service that provides discounted shipping rates through major carriers with custom-sized bike boxes and options to ship directly to local destination bike shops.[ready2racetransport.com](https://www.triathlete.com/gear/bike/3-ways-to-transport-your-triathlon-bike/)
• Playtri — While not a transport trucking service, they are heavily integrated into major IRONMAN and 70.3 events, offering professional on-site race-week mechanical services, professional bike builds, tune-ups, and pack-ups if you ship your bike to the location or area.[ready2racetransport.com](https://www.playtri.com/ironman-services)

If you share the name of the specific race or location you are traveling to, I can check which transport options or local partner bike shops service that event.
