GDB is the GNU Project debugger that lets you see what is happening inside another program while it runs or at the moment it crashes. It supports starting programs with configurable conditions, stopping on specified events, inspecting what happened after a stop, and modifying program state to experiment with fixes, whether the target runs locally, remotely, or in a simulator, on UNIX, Windows, or macOS. It supports multiple languages (Ada, Assembly, C, C++, D, Fortran, Go, Objective-C, OpenCL, Modula-2, Pascal, Rust) and is available as version 17.2 for download from the GNU project.
