What AI says about Orpheus

Orpheus TTS is an open-source text-to-speech system built on the Llama-3b backbone, showcasing emergent capabilities of using LLMs for speech synthesis. It delivers human-like speech with natural intonation, emotion, and rhythm; supports zero-shot voice cloning without fine-tuning; and enables guided emotion and intonation with simple tags, all with low-latency streaming around ~200 ms (potentially ~100 ms with streaming). The project provides English models and multilingual models in a research preview, along with a training guide and Baseten-optimized inference (fp8/fp16) to improve performance.
