It supports YAML, JSON, INI variants, and DotEnv formats, and can even encrypt entire files via a binary store, with access controlled by identities that may require multiple contributors to decrypt. It supports offline (Age, PGP/GnuPG) and online (cloud KMS and secret management systems) key management, integrates with major providers (AWS KMS, Google Cloud KMS, Azure KMS, HuaweiCloud KMS, HashiCorp Vault, OpenBAO), and is a Cloud Native Computing Foundation sandbox project.
