Prices and availability may change. Delivery, plumbing, electrical work, and installation can add substantially to the total cost.

Before you order: Check the tub's exact dimensions, left- or right-side drain, door swing, entry height, and whether installation is included. The door must seal securely, so you generally need to enter and close it before filling the tub.

Would you like me to narrow this down to the best options for you? What is your approximate budget for the bathtub itself?

• The Home Depot — a particularly good starting point for price comparison because it currently has walk-in tubs with published prices, including basic models around $2,100–$3,500 and more feature-heavy models around $4,000–$5,000+.
• Wayfair — worth checking for additional sizes and styles; current examples include compact soaking tubs around $3,300 and larger models around $4,000–$5,500.
• Manufacturer/installer brands — Kohler, American Standard, Safe Step, and Ella's Bubbles are worth comparing if professional installation and warranty support are priorities. Current reviews consistently highlight these brands, although several sell primarily through quotes rather than transparent online pricing.www.consumeraffairs.com

Before you buy, check these 6 things

1. Exact dimensions — measure the existing tub opening, bathroom doorway, and available floor space.
2. Drain location — left/right drain compatibility can make or break an installation.
3. Step-in height — lower is generally preferable for accessibility; current models range from roughly 2–6 inches.www.consumeraffairs.com
4. Door direction — inward- vs. outward-opening doors matter for bathroom layout and accessibility.
5. Drain/fill speed — particularly important because you generally need to remain seated inside while the tub drains.
6. Installed price and warranty — don't compare a $3,000 tub online with a $10,000 professionally installed package without accounting for plumbing, electrical work, removal, permits, and labor. Installation is specifically identified as a potentially large additional cost.www.ncoa.org

My recommendation: start with the online models above to establish a realistic $2,500–$5,000 tub-only benchmark, then get 2–3 installed quotes for the same dimensions and features. That will make it much easier to spot an overpriced quote.

If you tell me your budget, tub dimensions (or current tub size), and whether you need wheelchair accessibility/hydrotherapy, I can narrow this down to 5–7 specific tubs currently available online and compare their prices, reviews, dimensions, and features.
