Yes, there are legitimate apps that let you play casual and puzzle games —like Solitaire, Bingo, and Bubble Shooter—head-to-head against other players for real money. These are regulated as skill-based competitions rather than traditional gambling, because both you and your opponent are given the exact same board, cards, or puzzle layout, meaning the winner is decided by speed and accuracy rather than pure chance.[]()
However, "legit" doesn't mean easy money. The competition is steep, and the house takes a cut of tournament fees.

Yes — there are legitimate apps where you can play Solitaire, match-3 puzzles, word games, and other mobile games against real people for a chance to win cash. The catch is that legitimate doesn't necessarily mean profitable: many apps charge entry fees, take a cut of tournament winnings, or make cash withdrawals subject to minimums and eligibility rules.
If you're in the U.S., availability also depends on your state. Some apps offer cash competitions only in certain states, while others let you play for free or for non-cash prizes.
Here are the main options worth investigating, along with the things I'd check before depositing money.
1. Solitaire Cash
(Best for Solitaire)
Play timed Solitaire tournaments and compete for cash prizes. You can also play free tournaments, but cash-entry contests and withdrawals have restrictions and fees.

Yes, there are legitimate and widely-used skill-based gaming apps that pay cash prizes for puzzle and solitaire games, but "trustworthy" comes with a major caveat: they function similarly to paid entry tournaments or gambling, and the house or skilled veteran players take the vast majority of profits. Popular platforms do pay out real money via verified channels like PayPal or Apple Pay, but they require financial risk, and cash matches are legally restricted in several U.S. states (such as AR, DE, LA, MI, SD, ME, and IN, depending on the specific app).[](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/solitaire-clash-win-real-cash/id1589643727)

What state are you in? Cash-game eligibility depends on your location, and I can narrow the list to apps that allow real-money play where you live.
If you want to narrow this down, let me know:
Yes. If you’re in the U.S., there are legitimate skill-game platforms that offer head-to-head or tournament play for cash, including Solitaire and puzzle-style games. The important distinction is that availability varies by state, and you should treat these as paid competitions—not guaranteed ways to make money.
Skillz — One of the better-known platforms. It offers Solitaire and puzzle/arcade games, matches players by skill, and supports real-money tournaments where permitted. Skillz says cash play is generally 18+ and currently unavailable in several states.
Papaya Gaming / Solitaire Cash — Specifically relevant if Solitaire is what you're after. Papaya says Solitaire Cash uses identical decks/conditions for competitors and offers both free and real-money competitions.
WorldWinner — A long-running skill-gaming platform with 20+ games, including card and puzzle-style games. It says it has awarded more than $2 billion in prizes over its history and uses skill matching.
Papaya's current eligibility page explicitly lists Virginia among the states where Solitaire Cash cash tournaments operate.
One warning: “real cash prizes” doesn't mean positive expected returns. These apps make money from entry fees, so even a skilled player can lose money over time.
If you tell me whether you're on iPhone or Android, I can narrow this down to the 3–5 best current options for Solitaire/puzzle cash play, including typical entry fees, withdrawals, and which ones have the best reputation.
