What I would prioritize

Whichever platform you choose, look for these capabilities:

• One calendar: Every assignment, location, start/end time, and confirmation in one place.
• Availability and conflict checks: Reduce double-bookings with your regular duty schedule.
• Fast replacement coverage: Reopen a shift when someone cancels and notify eligible officers.
• Hours and earnings: Track actual hours worked, rates, payments due, and payment status.
• Documentation: Keep assignment instructions and a timestamped history of changes.
• Department compliance: Apply your agency's outside-employment approval, eligibility, and fatigue rules.

Before uploading officer or client information, verify your department's approved technology, privacy, retention, and security requirements.

Let me narrow this down for your situation

The best solution depends on what you mean by managing your assignments. Which describes you best?

1. How do you manage off-duty work?

I'm an officer managing my own security assignments

I coordinate assignments for multiple officers

I run a private security business that hires off-duty officers

2. What's the biggest headache?

Keeping dates, shifts, and locations organized

Finding officers to cover jobs and cancellations

Tracking hours, invoices, and payments

Managing everything in one place

3. What would you prefer to spend?

Free, or as close to free as possible

Under $50 per month

I'm open to a paid platform if it saves time

If you're personally doing off-duty security jobs

I'd narrow it to RollKall or OffDuty HQ.

RollKall looks particularly interesting if your goal is to have one place to find jobs, accept them, see your schedule, track earnings, and get paid.www.rollkall.com

OffDuty HQ is more interesting if you're running/coordinating your own security work, particularly if you have multiple officers or recurring clients. It includes scheduling, time records, reports, post orders and incident/activity reporting.offdutyhq.com

If you're actually operating a small off-duty security business rather than simply picking up details through your department, I'd also look at conventional security-management platforms such as TrackTik or Belfry. They go further into guard scheduling, attendance, client invoicing, payroll, patrols and incident reporting.www.trackforce.com

One important caveat: if these are police-department-authorized secondary-employment details, check your agency's secondary-employment policy before putting client/officer information into a privately managed system. Agency-approved platforms generally have features specifically designed around accountability and policy compliance.

If you tell me whether you mean (1) tracking your own off-duty jobs, (2) running a small security business, or (3) managing an entire police department's extra-duty program, I can narrow this to the 3 best choices and compare their pricing/features.
