Open Archives InitiativeThe Open Archives Initiative (OAI) developed and promoted interoperability standards for the efficient dissemination of digital content across repositories. Its key specifications include the OAI Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), the OAI Object Reuse and Exchange (OAI-ORE) vocabulary, and the ResourceSync framework, which are still maintained though the initiative is no longer active.
