Jet Propulsion LaboratoryJet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is NASA’s federally funded, Caltech-managed research and development center that designs and builds robotic spacecraft to explore the universe, including our solar system and beyond. It develops technology to enable exploration and to improve life on Earth, operates numerous active missions such as Mars rovers, and maintains communications through the Deep Space Network. JPL also studies Earth from air and space and pursues the search for life beyond Earth, with education and public outreach supporting science discovery.
